Item Description
11x13.5" canvas w/red vinyl piping and rubber-like material interior lining. Attached canvas strap, leather pouch straps with metal fasteners. Flap has built-in canvas pencil pocket w/metal snap fasteners. Front pocket has 4x4.5" silk-screened design depicting classic scene showing Captain Marvel throwing a fighter plane. This bag was made in two styles; canvas (as seen here) or leatherette. Both are rare. ©1947 Fawcett Publications Inc. Captain Marvel's usual red uniform appears slightly faded but this is as printed and not fading. Vinyl piping has number of cracks w/.75" piece missing at corner of pencil pocket flap and smaller pieces missing at corners. Fine overall. We have only offered a few examples of this bag in our 52 years. Comes w/9.75x13.5" canvas bag w/white vinyl piping and canvas handle. Flap features full color/full body applique of Captain Marvel. ©1977 DC Comics. Some scattered aging/dist soiling to exterior but VF overall. Despite its more recent vintage, still a scarce item.
