Item Description
Pair of figurines featuring popular wartime depiction of Hitler as a skunk. 1940s. Wooden variety measures 3" long and differs from most seen, featuring Hitler's portrait on face as well as flags of all three Axis countries on skunk's backside. Scattered wear and even moderate aging. VF overall. 3.5" tall painted and glazed ceramic anthropomorphic figurine depicts Hitler as almost a Disney-like character, though marked w/Nazi swastika on arm (some of these figurines do not have swastika), wearing German military hat and giving Nazi salute. Skunk has Hitler's distinct hair and mustache. Designed by Don Winton of California pottery company Burke and Twin Winton, this is part of a series of figurines of caricature Axis leaders as animals. Underside is marked "Winton D141." Evenly aged but bright, glossy and Exc. Rare.
