Item Description
6-5/8x23" artboard has Al Capp's pencil and ink original art for Feb. 12, 1938 daily strip. Strip features four panels, w/Pappy Yokum and L'il Abner heading to "The Spot" saloon to see if rumors of Daisy Mae working there are true. Daisy is seen in voluptuous outfit singing to cowboys in third panel and Abner asks if she is Daisy Mae, which she confirms. Abner appears in every panel. Pappy in first two panels. Daisy appears in last two panels. Capp has signed third panel. Penciled "Twenty-Three-Skidoo!!" title at top margin. Artboard margins have some aging and scattered wear, but art remains clean and Exc. overall. Wonderful example of "Li'l Abner" from the popular comic strip's early years.
