14.5x22.5" frame. Letter on White House stationery dated "November 8, 1950." Truman writes "It Certainly Was Kind Of You To Write Me On The Day Of That Tragic And Unfortunate Incident At Blair House. I Want You To Know That I Appreciate Most Highly Your Expression Of Gratitude For My Personal Safety." Signed in black fountain pen ink at conclusion "Harry S. Truman." Framed display includes press photo from outside Blair House Nov. 1, 1950 when Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola attempted to enter the residence where Truman was residing during the White House remodel to assassinate the President and bring attention to Puerto Rican independence. Letter has one horizontal fold. Otherwise both letter and photo have only light handling wear. Exc. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
