Item Description
Pair from 1940 ©Superman Inc. Waxed paper wrapper features image of Superman, border design includes illustrations of prizes, mostly Superman-related including a sweatshirt, cut-out book, tie, belt, etc. Text reads "Join The Superman Supermen Of America Club And Compete For These Valuable Prizes." Also as part of wrapper design is a "Membership Application" coupon. Five of these coupons were needed to order the club ring or badge along w/10¢. All over scattered creases and traces of aging. Three .5 to 1" margin/border tears. Still a complete example w/strong color. Good/VG. Box front panel is 2.25x3" w/perforated sides. Back has "Valuable Superman Premium Coupon" w/list of items that could be obtained by sending in the coupons including: Superman Club Kit, Ring, etc. Variety in rwb rather than bw/red. There are 36 back panel cards in this series, ACC# 146. Reverse has some surface paper loss and stain but front is clean, VG.
