Item Description
7x9.25x1-3/8" deep wooden base has Dark Horse cold-cast resin model kit depicting the Creature from the Black Lagoon underwater, w/base featuring human skull and marine animal skeletons. Details include coral and kelp as well as piranha. Kit was sculpted by Academy Award-winning special effects artist/director Chris Walas and released in 1994. Kit was stunningly painted and detailed by famed comic character sculptor Randy Bowen, who started as a garage kit creator and quickly became one of the top sculptors in the industry. Front of base has attached "The Creature From The Black Lagoon - Sculpted By Chris Walas - Painted by Randy Bowen" brass nameplate. This very limited piece was created for just two recipients as special gifts. Underside of base has been inscribed/signed in gold paint pen by Bowen, who signed "Beast Wishes... Randy Bowen," adding "2/2" edition number. NM display and as impressive as any figural Creature item you will find, further enhanced by being hand-painted by a master pop culture artist.
