Item Description
"The Electric Company" was an educational children's TV series produced by the Children's Television Workshop for PBS, broadcasting 780 episodes over the course of its six seasons from Oct. 25, 1971 to April 15, 1977. Offered here are two approx. 8x9.5" high relief thin Vacuform plastic Halloween masks for Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman) and Otto the Director (Rita Moreno). Collegeville, 1977. Plastic masks have been completely hand-painted and each is marked "Original" in blue ink on inside, Collegeville's way of identifying it as a unique prototype. Masks have a few small scattered edge cracks and some lt. paint wear. Easy Reader has .5" crack to brim of hat and is VF while Otto has more moderate paint wear to hat and is Fine/VF overall. Unique pair. Comes w/8.5x11x3" deep window display box featuring Electric Company-specific graphics that contains Large (12-14) "Paul The Gorilla" costume. Box has partially loose window and some scattered creasing and is Fine overall. One-piece fabric costume w/vinyl chest piece features "I'm Paul The Gregarious Gorilla" text and image of Jennifer. 4" distressed seam at crotch o/w costume shows little wear. Fine/VF. Vacuform plastic mask has .25" edge crack but is o/w Exc. From the Collegeville Archives (see other Collegeville items throughout the auction).
