Item Description
1.75x3.5x4" tall tin litho novelty picnic basket w/two opening lids and carrying handle is totally unmarked but made in Spain, 1930s. Basket features repeated image of cartoon golfing dog on lids and fountains on ends of basket w/different scenes on front/back. These include Asian rickshaw scene on one side and scene featuring an unauthorized depiction of Disney's Three Little Pigs (which matches Disney's style quite nicely). One end of basket shows obvious wear and interior of basket has scattered oxidation as does .25" streak on edge of one lid. Rest of basket is evenly aged but retains deep color. Fine overall. Neat foreign tin piece and the first we've seen in our 52 years.
