Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard hinged-lid box contains 1.25x1.5" silver luster metal watch by Ingersoll, 1930s. Box lid features Official Boy Scout seal and is evenly aged. Underside of lid also has Official Boy Scout seal. Lid hinge is a bit fragile, but still attached. Box is tight and VF. Die-cut insert holds watch w/original black leather bands. This is more desirable dial variation w/die-cut brass Scout symbol w/tiny "Be Prepared" text that revolves as seconds progress. Nicely detailed dial w/image of post in center and hands are sign posts, reading "A Scout Is" and "Be Prepared." As minute hand revolves, it points to 12 attribute words printed on dial's outer edge, forming slogan, for example, "A Scout Is Trustworthy." The other variety features generic second dial and hands. Watch is wound tight and not running, and should just need a cleaning to function. Watch is o/w old store stock and displays Exc. Rare w/box. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
