Item Description
Cookie jar stands 11.5" tall. Pottery Guild of America, 1950s. Main portion appears as wooden barrel w/raised "Elsie" name and "Handle With Care - Use No Hooks - Fragile" text. Back of barrel shows Elsie's tail. Lid consists of Elsie's upper body, her front legs serving as handles. Glossy and Exc. One of the best designed advertising cookie jars. Comes w/11.25x15" die-cut cardboard counter standee w/easel back. Standee features Elsie pointing along w/large "Look" text to "Folks Who Know Cheese  Say Borden's Please!" text. ©1950 Borden Co.  Pin hole at top of Elsie's head w/two creases to one horn. Still VF overall. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
