Item Description
This tin litho tab is 1-3/8" dia. w/.75" long metal tab on back, w/"Bend Here" text folded over on the reverse. Front has multi-color design w/detective using sunglasses and hat as a disguise. Large dog lunges forward at left. Extensive text on the back of the piece, partially covered by the tab, reads "This Badge Is The First Gift In The Boys' Magazine Detective Outfit. Gifts Including Invisible Ink, Finger-Print Tester, Mystery Message Maker, Duplicator, Etc., Free Every Week In Boys' Magazine." 1930s. Badge has trivial 3/16" hairline scratch on far right edge but condition remains Exc. Only example known to us. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
