Item Description
"Red Barry" was a detective comic strip created by Will Gould (1911-1984) for King Features Syndicate. The strip starred undercover cop Red Barry and began March 19, 1934, as one of several strips introduced to compete w/Chester Gould's (no relation) "Dick Tracy." Offered here is 1.25" dia. cello pinback featuring profile portrait of Barry w/"Secret Agent" text above and the portrait is flanked by the number "4" while bottom of button (below portrait) has "Red Barry In The Leader" text. Complete w/Whitehead & Hoag backpaper. Button remains totally bright and glossy. Exc. Very rare 1930s comic strip-related button.
