Item Description
11x17" artboard features mixed media artwork depicting DC Comics' tragic swamp zombie Solomon Grundy trudging through the swamp water as the shadowy outline of Batman awaits on the shore. Hawkman can also be seen in the distance, flying through the treetops. Newell is perhaps best known for his work on DC's "Black Lightning" and various Moonstone Books comics and covers, including "Werewolf: The Apocalypse" series. Art has been signed by Newell in pencil at lower left, Newell adding peace symbol and "2/10" designation, which ties in w/hand-lettered "Sketch A Day" notation at lower right. Exc.
