Item Description
1.25" (35mm) silvered brass shell. DeWitt 1872-17. Reverse has high relief portrait of Grant. A high grade example w/almost no wear to ferrotypes and shell retaining over 90% of its original silver application. Exc. Material from Grant's 1872 campaign is notoriously rarer than that of 1868 and this is among the most outstanding jugates from the campaign. See matching Greeley as item #82.
