Item Description
See previous item. Offered here is 8.25x12-1/8" thin artboard w/aged vellum overlay, artboard featuring mechanical production art for full page ad that ran in "Wonder Woman" #47 in May, 1951 as noted by handwritten "Wonder Woman #47 - May June 47" text at top of artboard. Rest of production art consists of pasted stats aside from image of "Junior Justice Society Of America" badge image, which is 1-5/8x2-3/8" piece of scratchboard that has been applied to surface of artboard. Rest is printed stats, including full body image of Wonder Woman at left. This art was for one of the final advertisements for the Junior Justice Society of America club, which began in 1942. Shortly after this promotion the Golden Age comic book adventures of Justice Society of America ended around the same time w/"All Star Comics" #57, when the title became "All-Star Western," and stopped featuring superheroes. Mechanicals are missing two spots of text that appeared on published ad, "Wonder Woman" name under her image and "Will Enable You" text below badge image. Both areas have some glue staining as stats were originally applied. Scattered trace aging but o/w VF. Historic, one-of-a-kind piece related to the end of the Golden Age Justice Society. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
