Item Description
This 1-3/8" button is a real photo without dot pattern of him in floral motif buckskin jacket. Text below reads "Copyright/Col. W.F. Cody/Buffalo Bill." This is only the third example we've seen and only the second complete with back paper which reads: "Buffalo/Bill's Wild West/And Congress Of/Rough Riders Of/The World." Surrounding text names the maker as "Merchants' Portrait Co. Kentish Town Road, London, N.W." Our one example without back paper exceeded $400 and our one example with this back paper exceeded $700. NM displaying Mint.
