Item Description
Single-sided 11x13" cardstock sign issued to promote June 30, July 3-4 events at the 1940 New York World's Fair. Triptych design includes June 30th events that featured miniature speedboat and model auto racing as well as the National Marble Championship. July 3rd was "Superman Day" and center features nice image of Superman at center w/Trylon and Perisphere in bkg. Text notes "Field Of Special Events" as well as "Contests - Prizes - Parade." This day offered special 10¢ admission price for children. July 4th features patriotic display and notes there would be a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Each corner has approx. .5" tear at upper/lower left and right. Upper left has .5" corner crease. Sign is evenly aged and has faint horizontal crease along bottom margin. Fine overall but still nice for display. Rare and only the third example we've offered in our 52 years, our last example sold for $1,227. See following five Superman Day related lots.
