Item Description
Pair of double-sided, hand-painted canvas carnival punks w/wool edging. 1940s. Punks feature lifelike portraits of Hitler and Mussolini on one side w/stereotypical cartoon images of Tojo and Hirohito on the other sides. Punks are unstuffed and are w/o wooden block bases, but remain nice for display and could be easily stuffed if so desired. Hitler portrait shows moderate wear while Mussolini shows obvious wear w/much paint loss. Anti-Japan sides show less wear. Bottom edges have some pulls from nails once attached to wooden block. VG/Fine. Rarely seen double-sided anti-Axis punks.
