Item Description
Large and impressive 17x25.5x4.75" deep case w/brass carrying handle and latches opens to reveal elaborate Gilbert set issued in 1951. As stated in the 1951 Gilbert Toys catalog, this is a "Super Professional Outfit, Complete With Top Hat (Put Together In Seconds) And Drop Curtain." Contents include three Gilbert manuals - "Gilbert Mysto Magic, Knots & Splices" and "Handkerchief Tricks." Underside of lid features die-cut cardboard that holds manuals as well as five magic playing cards and cardboard insert tray holding tricks which lifts out of case, revealing magic wand and additional tricks, including 25 in "Mysto Magic" cardboard boxes (each trick is labeled). Contents appears complete, but case is missing legs that were inserted into case bottom to create stand for show. Case shows scattered moderate edge/corner tip wear and has faint "Gilbert Mysto Magic" name on lid. Insert tray has some small .25" to .5" tears/crease at die-cut areas. Contents appear unused and are VF to Exc. overall. Old store stock. One of the most sought after Mysto Magic sets and certainly one of the most elaborate.
