Item Description
3-5/8" tall (6.25" tall to top of raised wire handle) tin litho. Made in England by Happynak. Seam on side has "By Permission Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse Ltd. - 'Happynak' Series - Made In Gt Britain." 1930s. Of the numerous Disney sand pails made by Happynak, only a few were done in full color, and this is a nice example w/wrap-around beach scene featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse building sand castle as Pluto watches. Pail is evenly aged and has some scattered paint wear to rims (more to top rim) and a few small paint flakes. Some scattered trace oxidation to inner base of pail. VF overall. Rare and the first example of this pail we've offered in our 52 years. This is the actual example shown in the Wengel's book "Comic Character Metal Sand Toys."
