Item Description
6-3/8x7.25x1-5/8" hinged lid wooden box w/lid label that translates to "Cinema Puzzle" contains paper label-covered wooden blocks that when assembled correctly, can make six images. Made in Spain for the Spanish market, 1930s. Puzzle is complete and includes Mickey Mouse rescuing a bound Minnie Mouse from pirate, Laurel and Hardy, Disney's Three Little Pigs, Betty Boop, Shirley Temple and stereotypical depiction of black child. Comes w/printed sheets showing each scene, w/black child glued to underside of hinged lid. Wooden case shows some aging and wear w/some glue residue to lid and moisture staining to lid label, which has corner tip off. Lid also has some tiny insect tunnels to wood. Box is VG/Fine. Printed pictures have some scattered edge wear and are VF overall. Puzzle blocks have some rippling to labels and are Fine overall. A rare set w/great crossover interest. First we've seen in our 52 years.
