Item Description
23.25x29.25" frame w/21.5x27.75" opening. "Published By Shipman & Co. 8 Reade St. New York" and "Donaldson Brothers Five Points New York" in bottom l/r margins. Candidates portraits w/draped flags, olive branch and American shield between. By the 1880 campaign master lithographers had honed their skills evident here w/the subtle background text "Morgans Sapolio" and the razor sharp detail in the portraits. Tiny pin holes in corner margins and a cluster of light brown dots of toning at upper right. Otherwise only faint waviness and light handling wear. Extremely Fine. Of the few we have encountered most have significant condition issues making this a superior example and among the finest display pieces featuring the 1880 Republican ticket. See Hancock and English companion as item #95.
