Item Description
Cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 1.25" chromed metal case watch, complete w/original green vinyl-covered leather band. Larger of two cases produced. Dial features full figure image of Captain Marvel holding fighter jet (this differs slightly from box/insert image) and "Captain Marvel" name. ©1948 Fawcett. Original foil tag around band lists original price of "$5.95" and "Captain Marvel" name. Complete w/additional foil testimonial string tag and Marvel Importing Corporation guarantee folder. Box lid has some minor dust soiling and lt. edge wear but remains tight and VF overall. Die-cut display insert shows moderate wear at bottom w/two .25" tears and 1/8" tear at top. Insert also has noticeable fade to red portions (whereas lid has strong red color) and is VG/Fine. Case retains near full luster and dial remains totally bright and clean. Luminous material on numerals and hands still glow. Crystal has some trace surface wear. Running and o/w NM, old store stock.
