Item Description
16x16" illustrated paper label over stiff cardboard game has hanger hole at top corner (marked "Plonk The 'Welcom' Dart Game") as intended for use as a dart game. Made in England and designed by Alfred Morris for propaganda purposes, 1939-1940 and prior to US entry into World War II. Illustrations feature Allied and Axis figures including Goebbels, Goering, Stalin, Ribbentrop, Mussolini, Chamelin, Daladier, Kingsley-Wood, Churchill, Chamberlain, Von Papen, etc. w/Hitler appearing at the center. German military equipment; tank, ships, planes, etc. are also shown on the board. Game was to be played using rubber-tipped suction cup darts (not included) and features interesting gameplay, w/player starting w/predetermined score and trying to hit areas that reduce score to win. Game shows obvious wear w/heavy corner tip wear and all over dust soiling/aging. Some scattered areas of surface paper lifting. Good/VG. Rare and first we've seen of this elaborate and graphic game.
