Item Description
Set of four pieces from December 1943. Illustrated envelope w/Captain Marvel Club Headquarters return address has typed recipient name/address. Aged w/some lt. corner tip wear. VF. 8-3/8x10-7/8" printed letter has special Christmas letterhead featuring large Captain Marvel portrait and images of Fawcett comic books. Letter mentions "Comic Stamps" set included w/letter and also mentions Captain Marvel necktie, skull cap, sweater emblem as well as War Stamps and War Bonds. Folded as issued w/lt. even aging. Some wear along fold lines but VF overall. Complete and unused 7x8" perforated sheet of stamps w/gummed reverses features 24 characters, including Captain Marvel, Spy Smasher, Bulletgirl, Captain Marvel Jr., Bulletman, Hoppy the Marvel Bunny, Mary Marvel, Billy Batson, Capt. Midnight and more w/text at top promoting Fawcett comic books. Unused and NM. Comes w/single-sided 3.5x8.25" Christmas card featuring many of the same characters seen as stamps. Vertical fold at center as issued, w/tiny spot of aging at upper right. Card is o/w Exc. Rare as a complete set.
