Item Description
8.75x11" clothbound hardcover w/210 pages written by Gabe Essoe and published by The Citadel Press, ©1968. Book comes w/dustjacket which shows scattered edge wear and has tape repair to 1.5" tear at top left corner on front. Top of spine shows wear w/3/8" missing piece and there are some moderate edge chips. Dustjacket is VG overall. Title page has been signed by six people related to Tarzan, including the author, Burroughs historian Irwin Porges (see item #1509) as well as Tarzan and Jane actors/actresses from film and TV. Full list of names include - Denny Miller who has signed both title page and page 151), Eve Brent, Gordon Scott (who signed title page and page 141) and Ron Ely (on page 194) for total of eight signatures. Unless o/w noted, all have signed title page.
Denny Miller (1934-2014) portrayed Tarzan in the 1959 film "Tarzan, The Ape Man"
Gordon Scott (1926-2007) portrayed Tarzan in six films - "Tarzan's Hidden Jungle" (1955), "Tarzan And The Lost Safari (1957), "Tarzan's Fight For Life" (1958), "Tarzan And The Trappers" (1958), "Tarzan's Greatest Adventure" (1959) and "Tarzan The Magnificent" (1960)
Ron Ely, portrayed Tarzan in the 1966 "Tarzan" TV series
Eve Brent (1929-2011) portrayed Jane in the 1958 film "Tarzan's Fight For Life"
Book shows moderate edge/corner tip wear, w/lower right front cover being worn through cloth binding. Book is Fine overall w/Exc. pages. A truly impressive and unique item for the Tarzan collector. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
