Item Description
34" long including handle made of antler or bone. c. 1876. Mounted to wooden shaft is a 7/8" shield shaped brass shell frame that houses an oval portrait of "Hayes." Emulsion wear including losses at top affecting text and in the background at left. Portrait remains largely intact w/high contrast and sharpness. VG. The first we've seen in our 52 years.
