Item Description
3.75x6.75x1" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains Wilane watch issued in 1948. This is first version of box issued and features photos on lid and insert that match watch dial. Box has scattered wear including corner tip/edge wear and some color rubs, but retains its shape. Fine. Insert has some scattered creasing and small .25" tears and moderate wear around die-cut openings for band. VG/Fine. Comes w/original guarantee paper. 1x1.25" silver luster watch case has original tooled leather straps. Case back reads "Always Your Pal - Gene Autry." Winds and ticks a few seconds, but needs a simple cleaning to run. Case retains full luster and hands still glow in the dark. Dial has even aging but watch is still a high grade, Exc. example. This first version box is much rare than second version (see following item). This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
