Item Description
The Mickey Waddle Book was originally published in 1934 by Blue Ribbon Books. This is a first printing of the Spanish edition from Oct. 1935. 8x10.25" hardcover w/28 pages and dust jacket. Features story art in both bw and full color plus two instruction pages for assembling the Waddles. Book was issued w/four bound-in cardboard pages featuring punch-out Waddle figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Tanglefoot. These pages have been totally removed from the book. This has left noticeable gaps at two signatures but all pages remain intact. Contents are very lightly aged but totally clean. First interior page has .5x1.25" area of surface paper lift at top corner. Cover has corner foxing and shows moderate wear at top/bottom of spine, w/.5" piece missing at top. Cover o/w remains bright w/vibrant color. VG/Fine. Dust jacket shows heavy and obvious wear, heaviest wear at corners and top/bottom of spine and large splits. Just Good. Book comes w/complete set of Waddles, all of which have been neatly punched out. Also included is original glassine envelope containing all six metal fasteners used in assembling the figures. The figures were once assembled but very neatly done and shows some wear as such w/small creases (most noticeable to Pluto's neck) but no serious defects. Waddles are Fine to VF. Also included is the original illustrated envelope which contains the die-cut cardboard ramp. Envelope has margin aging and some lt. scattered handling wear. Fine. Ramp itself is bright, clean and VF/Exc. w/two creases to tabs. Rare to find any edition of this book complete and the Spanish version is also rarely seen.
