Item Description
The Mickey Waddle Book was originally published in 1934 by Blue Ribbon Books. Whereas the first printing of the Spanish edition was printed Oct. 1935 (see previous item), this is the second edition that was published two months later in Dec. 1935 as noted on copyright page. Lot includes book only (Waddles and ramp not included). 8x10-3/8.25" hardcover w/28 pages featuring story art in both bw and full color plus two instruction pages for assembling the Waddles. Book was issued w/four bound-in cardboard pages featuring punch-out Waddle figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Tanglefoot. These pages have been totally removed from the book, leaving noticeable gaps at two signatures but all pages remain intact. Contents are very lightly aged but totally clean. Cover has some corner tip wear and shows wear at top/bottom of spine, w/.75" and 1" splits at top. Cover o/w remains bright w/vibrant color. Fine overall. Comes w/4-5/8x6-3/8" Spanish catalog for books published 1935-1936 by Editorial Molino, who published the Spanish edition of the Waddle book. The Waddle book is prominently featured on cover alongside Mickey Mouse pop-up books and is also noted among mostly text contents (Waddle ad on back cover) that features images of a few Spanish versions of Disney titles published by Blue Ribbon and Whitman including Silly Symphonies, the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf. Front cover has bookstore inkstamp. Moderate punch creases to spine w/evenly aged contents. Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 52 years.
