Item Description
1.5" w/union black stamp. c. 1967. Sunflower County, MS was of key importance to Freedom Summer and the MFDP. Delegates elected by the party traveled to the 1964 DNC and asked to be seated rather than the Segregation Democrats who had blocked them for participating in the States Democratic Convention because of the color of their skin.
