Item Description
5.75x8.75" program for elaborate "Spring Follies" production put on by the Elsinore Theatre of Salem, OR (which is still in operation, featuring live shows). This was a large city venue that had a large membership for their Mickey Mouse Movie Club. Program features three different Mickey Mouse images, including two mid-1930s images of Mickey on the interior, the image on the front cover was only used for a few months in 1930 when the first West Coast Mickey Mouse Movie Clubs were forming. (see button in item #1343). As the Elsinore club formed in 1930, they may have used this image to promote that fact. Program also features "Club Briefs" noting "Elsinore Club Was Organized In 1930. Now 3600 Members - 30 Piece Orchestra - 200 Entertainers - Contests Each Week" and also includes the "Mickey Mouse Club Creed." Back features girls' coats/suits/dresses ad which features additional small Mickey Mouse image and "Millers... Mickey Mouse Club's Favorite Store" text, which is partially obscured by the four spots of surface paper lifts at corners from scrapbook mounting. Program has some scattered handling/aging and is Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 52 years.
