Item Description
"Gasoline Alley" is a comic strip created by Frank King, debuting on Nov. 24, 1918. As of 2019, it is the longest-running strip in the US, and the second longest-running strip of all time after "The Katzenjammer Kids." Offered here is lot of five items from the 1930s featuring one of the main characters from "Gasoline Alley" - Skeezix. Lot includes the following - 6" tall die-cut tin litho "Listerine" toothbrush holder w/some paint wear. 2.25" dia. cello birthstone pocket mirror w/imprint for "Skeezix Shoes." 1.25" dia. cello button often found w/imprint but this features just his image (matching the pocket mirror). Scarce "Skeezix Shoes" tin whistle w/character images on back. Rare shield-shaped "Member - Wonder Bread Skeezix Safety Club" badge. All mostly VF to Exc. Several are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
