Item Description
14x22" cardboard window card/poster. Promoting a concert at "Casino Ballroom" on "Friday, June 17" in "Hampton Beach, NH." Widely considered to be the top design featuring Haley And His Comets who are in full blaze on this spectacular poster from the summer of 1955. The group spent the summer ushering rock 'n roll into the mainstream behind their hit "Rock Around The Clock". A little less than a month after this show RATC would make the ascent to the top of the Billboard chart, the first rock 'n roll song to reach the summit. A 1.5" vertical tear just right of the "B" in "Ballroom" and a 1" horizontal margin tear at top right. Pin holes in top corners and staple hole at center on Haley's hairline. Age toning affecting top two thirds most notably along marquee at top otherwise blending evenly. Only light corner and edge wear and superb color. VG. Only the second example known to us and this one w/no restoration. An amazing survivor featuring a historically important artist w/spectacular graphics and extreme rarity.
