9.25x16.5x2.25" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains English set, c. 1942 by the British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd. Lid features images of Mickey Mouse, Toby Tortoise, Max Hare, Fiddler Pig, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy and others. Images of the light set appears on lid and side panels. Same lid art also appears on the large flip-up insert. Box lid shows moderate edge/corner tip wear and is evenly aged. Lid has one corner split. VG/Fine overall. Insert has some edge/corner wear and is VF. Complete w/12 plastic shades w/glass bulbs and original wiring complete w/European-type plugs, decals on shades feature eight different scenes, featuring Disney/Silly Symphony characters like Merbabies, Pegleg Pete, Three Little Pigs, Big Bad Wolf, Elmer Elephant, Clara Cluck, Ferdinand the Bull, Pluto, Donald Duck and his nephews, Mickey Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, Little Hiawatha, Tortoise and the Hare among others. Typical decal wear w/some tiny flakes off. Fine to VF. Rare set.
