Item Description
8.5x11" typed letter on illustrated "Kay Kamen Ltd. - Mickey Mouse Magazine" letterhead is dated Aug. 5, 1937 and comes w/original mailing envelope w/matching mailing address (featuring image of Mickey among the skyscrapers at Rockefeller Center) and recipient name. Letter thanks recipient for entry and notes that it will appear on "Your Page" in an upcoming issue of "Mickey Mouse Magazine." Letter goes on to note this entitles recipient to a prize, a boxed set of Mickey Mouse handkerchiefs. Letter is evenly aged and has been folded as mailed. Fine/VF. First we've seen of a letter of this type. Envelope shows obvious wear and just comes along. Letter comes w/complete 2.5x5" premium card issued in 1935 around the time of the first issue of the magazine published by Hal Horne hit the stands in the summer of that year. Donald Duck holds large stack of dishes above dotted line marked "Cut Here" w/attached numbered coupon. This is from set of 12 w/text reading "For A Complete Set, Numbers 1 to 12, You Will Receive Free A Copy Of The Mickey Mouse Magazine - The Hostess Cake Salesman." Moderate age toning but VG/Exc. overall. These cards are very rare (see items #1909 for additional cards).
