Item Description
5.75" tall (8.5" tall to top of raised handle) tin litho, unmarked but by Ohio Art, c. 1934. Pail features nice wraparound scene showing the Three Little Pigs having a picnic w/Little Red Riding Hood, Fiddler Pig playing music as they eat. Rim and handle show moderate wear, w/exterior showing moderate wear from use. A few bends to metal sides, which have some lt. scattered surface oxidation that is only visible upon close inspection. VG overall, but sides remain nice for display. This particular pail is a new find in the hobby, previously unknown of by Hake's or by any serious pail collectors, including Doug and Pat Wengel, who wrote the book "Comic Character Metal Sand Toys." It is also not shown in any of the Ohio Art catalogs we have reviewed. A true rarity, sure to occupy a prime spot in any collector's pail display.
