Item Description
2-7/8" tall (5" tall to top of raised handle) tin litho. Originally sold with candy contents as marked "Ridley's - Est. 1906 - Brooklyn NY." 1930s. Scrappy appeared in a number of Columbia Pictures distributed cartoons during the 1930s. Pail pictures him on boat being pulled by his dog Yippy, as girlfriend Margy and little brother Oopy run along the seashore. Oopy dangles hot dog from fishing line to entice Yippy to run. Lobster sand mold on bottom of pail. Pail's exterior shows some scattered lt. wear, w/small paint nick/scratches and slight unevenness to top rim. Some lt. oxidation to inner bottom and scattered luster loss to underside of pail. Fine. Scarce sand pail.
