Item Description
Lot of eight, published between June 1938 and Oct. 1948 by Trojan Publishing Corp./Popular Publications, Inc. Lot features great crime/noir covers, including killer clown, femme fatales and one striking cover featuring dead women in partially submerged car, a knife sticking out of her bloody chest. Single "Private Detective Stories" issue (June 1938) features H.J. Ward cover. Complete and unfaded cover and spine, pulp shows some lt. wear and cream-colored pages remain supple. Fine overall and a choice example. Rest of lot consists of "Dime Detective Magazine" issues. Condition varies; Jan. 1946 issue shows obvious spine wear and is VG. Jan. 1948 issue has tape inside front/back covers and is VG. Oct. 1948 issue has 2" and 2.5" tears to back cover. VG. Aug. 1941 and Sept. 1948 issues have complete and unfaded covers and spines, pulps show some scattered edge/spine wear and cream-colored pages remains supple. VG/Fine. Remainder of lot is in choice, Fine condition w/majority of pages being cream in color and supple.
