Item Description
8.35x12.75x4.5" deep Madame Alexander box contains 19.5 tall stuffed cloth doll depicting Howdy Doody's friend Clarabell. Madame Alexander, 1950s. Box has illustrated Madame Alexander label w/faint "Clarabell" inkstamp. Label also has embossed "Fashion Academy Award" sticker and store price sticker. Box is aged and has some corner creases. Lid has one corner split and 3" dia. moisture stain. Fine overall. Box has original tissue paper and doll is dressed in satin-like outfit w/lace collar and Clarabell's box (in which he keeps his horn, which is not included) is cardboard w/"Clarabell By Madame Alexander" text on front and this is attached around his waist w/ribbon. Yarn hair and felt facial accents. Each wrist has metal jingle bell. Original "Posey Pets" die-cut string tag attached to wrist. Doll has lt. even aging and is o/w NM. Scarce w/original box.
