Item Description
1/2" to 1-5/8". All relate to Ford car, although the very small first three were Sunday school, not company, issued. Row 1 #4 has many cracks,  and some litho buttons have tiny wear traces but vast majority are Exc to Mint. Those particularly scarce or rare are the Row 2 first two, Row 3 #2,4,and 6. Row #4 #1,2,3, and 6 (more on this one to come),Row #5 #4. Row #6 #2.  Although the spelling is not a 100% match, we think the origin of the "Ford Hoodlum" button dates to 1937. Victor Reuther and other U.A.W. union members were distributing union literature when they were attacked and beaten by company thugs. A Detroit newspaper reporter described the attackers as "hoodlums". Later, in October, 1937, there were news reports of Ford's private police "Wearing Badges With The Words 'Ford's Hoodlums'". A great group of Ford buttons.
