Item Description
7.25" long. Silk. 1844. Eagle and rays above candidates name in banner. In scroll below portrait is quote "Protection To All The Great Interests Of The Whole Union Embracing Agriculture, Mechanic Arts, Commerce And Navigation." Tiny pin hole in field at lower left and scattered light brown damp staining throughout. Fine. While all Polk ribbons are rare this one is especially so. Only the second we can recall encountering in our 53 years.
