Item Description
19.75x26" frame w/11.5x17.5" opening. Facsimile signature below portrait and text "Hon. Abraham Lincoln Sixteenth President Of The United States." Currier & Ives utilized Mathew Brady's famed Cooper Union portrait on this 1861 inaugural print but w/Lincoln having recently grown a beard the legendary lithographers attempted to add a beard to the plate resulting in this most unusual hand colored portrait print. Scattered surface scuffs most notably in field right of portrait. Otherwise moderate handling and faint toning. VF and displaying Exc. Not examined out of professional double matted frame.
