Item Description
Pair of 3.5x4.5" rectangular felt patch/emblems that were issued as Fawcett premiums, c. 1943. Both patches feature "Capt. Marvel" name and same image of flying Captain Marvel as the later shield-shaped patch, but these rectangular versions are scarcer. Two color varieties - blue and yellow -yellow version is an even rarer color variety and the rarest of all Captain Marvel patches. Patches remains bright, clean and are Exc. Comes w/3x4.75" screen-printed patch from part of c. 1945 series of "Glo-Crests" produced by Anglo-American Publishing Co. in Canada. Series consists of 10 glow-in-the-dark patches that include Captain Marvel, Commander Steel, Crusaders, Dr. Destiny, Freelance, Hurri-Kane, Kip Keene, Purple Rider, Red Rover and Terry Kane. Patch shows some aging across top and some lt. wear at top center but still glows. Fine overall. Rare and the most desirable of the Canadian series.
