Item Description
10.5x16" artboard has pencil original art by Gene Colan that has been inked by Vince Colletta. Art is for page 14 of "Captain Marvel" Vol. 1 #4, published by Marvel Aug. 1968. Page features five panels, showing Yon-Rogg commanding his spaceship's crew as he takes control of Earthly missile launch, w/US military reacting to the rocket's new target, just outside New York Harbor. Third panel is mostly printed stat paste-over (w/some original art visible underneath), w/exception of top of one man's head. Top margin has handwritten title and issue/page numbers w/scattered editorial notations. Bottom margin has been signed in black felt tip pen "To Paul - Best Wishes - Gene Colan." Top/bottom corners have hole punches and lower left has .25x.5" corner tip off. Back has stat section circled and bears Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Artboard is Fine overall but art remains clean and displays VF overall.
