Item Description
Two complete and unused sets issued in 1944. While mostly the same, there are two varieties and these were issued by two different sponsors: Tootsie V-M Chocolate Drink Mix and Miller Bros. Hat Co. Contents for each include paper/card stock items: manual, decoder, membership card, suspect file card, ruler, wall chart, badge. One version comes in color envelope, the other a brown mailer env. w/art in blue. The main difference between the two is anti-Japanese propaganda that is printed on the back of the color env. and one page of the manual. This was eliminated from the second version. Also, one has a 36" ruler and the other an 18" ruler, as noted on the envelopes. Color env. has moderate scattered wear, Fine. Other env. is w/o mailing label and Exc. Contents have some loose perforations/pieces but all in unused and Exc. to Mint as issue. Great design and rare to obtain both versions at once (many don't even know there are two).
