Item Description
11-1/8x15-7/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by Jim Aparo for page 23 of Hercules #5, published by Charlton Dec. 1980. Page features five panels from Chapter Five: The Battle Lost story, showing Hrothelac the banished Thane of Bagarth as a slave aboard a Viking ship, which smashes upon large rocks during a storm. Handwritten page number at top right. Margins show scattered dust soiling/staining w/some small tears and surface paper lifts. Top margin has some staple holes at left and two spot of tape staining. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp and shows moderate glue staining. Artboard is VG/Fine overall but art remains clean and Fine/VF overall w/just some minor staining to bottom two panels.
