Item Description
PLEASE NOTE - RING CONDITION IS AS DESCRIBED. WHAT YOU SEE IN OUR PHOTO (ESPECIALLY IF ENLARGED) IS NOT WHAT IS SEEN BY THE NAKED EYE. THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE AMPLIFIES EVEN THE MOST MINOR IMPERFECTION. LOOKING AT THE ITEM IN PERSON AND UNDER NORMAL VIEWING CONDITIONS, LITTLE TO NONE OF THIS IS EVIDENT. WHEN WE GIVE A RING LIKE THIS A HIGH GRADE, THAT IS THE ACCURATE GRADE AND A MORE TRUE ACCOUNT OF THE ITEM AS SEEN IN THE CATALOG PHOTO. This is the rarest Orphan Annie ring and one of the rarest of all premium rings. Very briefly issued by Quaker cereals during their final year of the "Little Orphan Annie" radio program sponsorship in 1942. This example grades NM and is one of only two or three known in that high grade condition. All brass ring has adjustable bands w/"Pursuit Plane" pictured on one side and "Bombing Plane" on the opposite. Ring top has a small rivet holding three individual moveable plates. Each plate has a small hole of graduated sizes and the concept is to hold the ring to the sky to look at an airplane. If the airplane image fits within one of these holes then the plane is at an altitude designated on one of these three pieces as - 25,000 feet, 5,000 feet or 10,000 feet. Ring features beautiful and bright luster on the base and top plate and only visible wear are a few pinpoint dots off the middle "5,000 Ft." plate and some tiny luster off the edges of the "2,500 Ft." plate. A superb, NM example of this classic premium ring, among the best we have offered in our 53 years.
