Item Description
12-1/8x21.5" artboard has hand-painted and hand-lettered full body image of Moon Mullins w/cut-out eyes/mouth and was designed w/leg sections that fold out. Text at bottom notes "Your Choice Of "Moon Mullins, Harold Teen, Lillums, Smitty" beside paste-on image of Ivory Soap bars and blank circle for price. Additional text notes that dummy was obtained w/purchase of three bars of soap. Designed w/original art panel on back of head which could be moved up and down "To See Moon Wiggle His Eyes. Roll His Eyes, Open His Mouth." Back has scattered glue staining and back has tape repairs to main fold, reattached panels. Archival tape reinforcement added to bottom fold. Front shows scattered wear/dust soiling. VG. Unique. Comes w/8.5x11"retailer's promotional folder that shows dummies as well as display offered in this lot. This premium was proposed for Ivory Soap but was ultimately offered by Pure Oil (as noted on included Moon Mullins production dummy included in this lot. Folder has some lt. handling wear and is VF overall. 12-1/8x13.75" cardboard store advertising display w/easel back features Andy Gump Dummy design incorporated into display, complete w/fold-out legs. Pricing area remains unused. Exc. Lot also includes three production examples of the actual dummies - Andy Gump, Harold Teen and Moon Mullins. These show some scattered handling wear w/creases and some loose perforations but all remain unused. Fine to VF overall. All in lot is rare. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold.
