2.5x4". Carte de visite of three slave children captioned "These Children Were Turned Out Of The St. Lawrence Hotel, Chestnut St., Philadelphia, On Account Of Color." Reverse has printed text "The Net Proceeds From The Sale Of These Photographs Will Be Devoted To The Education Of Colored People In The Department Of The Gulf, Now Under The Command Of Major General Banks" and bearing photographer "J.F. McClees, Philadelphia" mark. Rounded corners and faint scattered foxing throughout. Scarce.
